Who should use the Vibram KSO?

I think there are two groups of people that benefit from the KSO the most.

First:  the experienced runner that has a great stride and wants to mix up their running regime could add 1 day a week of Vibram running.  This would help strengthen the lower leg and just “mix things up.”

Second:  someone that has already worked up to a consistent 10-20 miles per week, but doesn’t have great form.  This person could switch to KSO’s, drop their volume to 10% of their normal mileage, and increase by 10% per week.  They could then decide to switch back to traditional shoes or continue on with Vibram KSO’s with their improved running form.

Who SHOULDN’T use the Vibram KSO?

If you are brand new to running this isn’t the best shoe to start with.   If you would like to lose a few pounds, this also isn’t a great shoe to start with.

What are the best running shoes on the market?

I am trying to run along side or behind my daughter and son while they are in cross country. My question is what would be a good running shoe for me to purchase. I can’t afford expensive shoes so please suggest something affordable.

A lot of times it depends on the runner. I myself am kind of heavy (for a runner) and need lots of shock absorption. I found a great pair of Adidas at Costco and another pair at Fred Meyer. Only paid $35 per pair and they work great. I believe they were called the Adidas Super Cusion at Costco, and Mega Cusion at Fred Meyers.

Sometimes Roadrunnersports has a good sale, but personally I like to try them on.

What running shoes do some of you long distant runners like to wear?

What are good running shoes? And are they worth getting for only a few weeks?

I have to take summer PE. I needed new shoes, and my dad agreed to get me some. The only problem is, I don’t want my parents to spend lots of money on something I only plan to use for a few weeks. I do work out about 2-4 times a week, but I was planning on wearing my worn out shoes. Should I just spend the money and use the running shoes for my workouts or is it just a waste of money to buy something I will only use for a few weeks?

I’m looking to get new running shoes. Any suggestions on which ones I should get? I am looking to spend no more than $90. I also prefer Nike.
I am a male and am just running for exercise.

Nike has several styles that should fit what you are looking for. However I have personally found that Brooks Adrenaline (about $90) have a better fit (for my arch of course) and last longer.

Where is a good place to buy running shoes in Taipei, Taiwan?

I am running in the marathon at Tarko Gorge in November. I need to pick up another pair of running shoes, but I have no idea where to go. I’ve been in Taiwan for 2 months so I know where to get shoes at night markets etc., but I need quality running shoes. It would be nice if there was a shoe or running specific store. It would also be nice if the store has people that speak English and could fit me for quality running shoes. Price is really not an issue.

You should buy it at department stores, sports wear store…etc.
In Taipei, go to Gongguan (??) very close to Taiwan university, there are some sports wear shops there, price are resonable,quality is also good.

Every year from October in Taiwan, time for department store’s on sale, buy everything ,they always has discount better than regular time.
